Skied mellow north facing trees today but we witnessed a spectacle of avalanche activity and signs of instability.
The other group in the area reported triggering this slide accidentally from ridgeline, about 30 feet above the crown. On NE aspects, failed on faceted 3/24 suncrust. On the more northerly parts of the crown, just near surface facets. Start zone slope angles estimated in upper 30s, but pulled out slabs as low as 31 degrees on way down, with slab releases as low as 5800'.
