Day off ski tour looking to evade wind slabs today in Cascadilla. We found very little wind affect and good stability. Ski tracks from earlier in the week were still in tact on all aspects, and we had to hunt to find a few drifts 1-3” thick.
We were surprised to see apparently little recent wind loading on the alpine here, evidenced by a handful of shallow point releases that ran naturally off of Mt Nyack’s east face. We didn’t travel higher than 5800’ to test that assessment.
