Observations
Share what you saw
Field observations are the foundation of our daily forecast. They help validate predicted avalanche activity, alert us to snowpack and weather variations, and ultimately enable us to provide accurate descriptions of avalanche hazards.
We are so fortunate and grateful to have an active community of public observers sharing what they see in the mountains.
Join the board or a committee
This is the best way to roll up your sleeves and add capacity. Get started by joining our NRSAW or Education committees, which are open to the public.
If you’re keen to invest more time, the FOFAC Board of Directors is seeking new members with legal or development experience.

We believe that a more connected avalanche community is more informed and more resilient. So come on out to our workshops, beacon clinics, and other events!
We kick off the season every November with the Northern Rockies Snow & Avalanche Workshop, and have a full calendar through early March. All raffles and ticket sales support our safety programs.
