Toured into the middle portion of Flathead Range to evaluate a buried crust/ facet combo and look for newly formed storm slabs.
Grant Ridge up to 7000'.
Mix bag of conditions while driving to the trailhead midday. The slightest changes in elevation along the highway transitioned precipitation from rain to snow. Very wet and soggy below 4500' but we observed snow when departing from the truck and upon arrival in the afternoon. Winds remained calm throughout our tour with only light gusts from time to time. Snowfall was consistent during the day and primarily S1 with a few bursts of S2.
