The workshop was a great success and a lot of fun this year. We'll see you next year!

Northern Rockies Snow and Avalanche Workshop on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at the O'Shaughnessy Cultural Arts Center in Whitefish, Montana from 9:00 am - 4:00pm

The Flathead Nordic Backcountry Patrol (FNBP) is a non-profit group of volunteer men and women trained and prepared to respond to any type of winter back-country emergency. The Patrol's area of responsibility is primarily Flathead County, although the patrol will respond anywhere in NW Montana, or if circumstances indicate, we will respond anywhere our services may be helpful.

We are excited to announce that we are hosting the sixth annual Northern Rockies Snow and Avalanche Workshop (NRSAW 2016). The venue for NRSAW 2016 will be the O-Shaughnessy Cultural Arts Center in Whitefish, Montana and the date is Saturday, November 5. Mark your calendars!

The NRSAW is open to winter recreational enthusists and professional's alike.

After five successful years and well attended Workshops with over 240 attendees and 30 sponsors each year, the committee is at it again! This is ALL volunteer work and none of this could be accomplished without the fantastic synergy of the Steering Committee and the Friends of the Flathead Avalanche Center, workshop presenters, and workshop sponsors.

Aside from workshop presentations we will also have avalanche safety/ winter equipment/ service sponsor display in the foyer of the Workshop venue. The foyer venue of the workshop allows participants in the Workshop to speak directly with winter related equipment and service representatives/specialists.

As the summer progresses, please refer back to this website on a regular basis for updates in regards to the workshop status, schedule, and sponsors.

Thank you for your support and we hope to see you at the Workshop!
